Wyoming's siding is chosen by the wind. On March 12, 2026, gusts of 109 miles an hour were clocked near Chugwater and Centennial, with sustained winds of 75, and the storm blew over dozens of trucks and ripped roofs off buildings. A wall of vinyl in that wind does not stay on, so steel siding and fiber cement have the replacement market from Cheyenne to Rawlins, with log and cedar the look in Jackson, Sheridan, and the mountain towns.
