Siding Contractor Software in Ohio

Hail does not just hit roofs. When a storm comes through central or western Ohio, the north and west walls of the house take the same hail the roof did, and aluminum siding dents while vinyl cracks. A lot of Ohio siding work starts as part of a roof claim, with the adjuster writing for the two damaged elevations and the homeowner asking what it would cost to do all four so the colors match. That conversation is where a lot of the margin in this trade lives.

The housing stock decides the product. The older neighborhoods in Cleveland, Cincinnati, Toledo, and Dayton still have wood clapboard and the aluminum that went over it in the 1960s, and pulling that off means dealing with whatever the sheathing looks like underneath. The ring suburbs from the 1950s through the 1970s are the volume market for vinyl. The new subdivisions going up around Columbus are mostly vinyl and fiber cement out of the gate, and the siding work there is warranty and storm repair rather than replacement.

As of January 1, 2026, siding contractors fall under Ohio's new Home Improvement Contractor Registration. Any repair or remodeling work on a one, two, or three unit house requires registering with the Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board, which takes a background check, a $25,000 bond, $500,000 in liability coverage, and proof of workers' comp. Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati keep their own city registrations as well.

Ohio also limits what you can collect before the job starts. On a contract over $25,000, the down payment is capped at ten percent, though special-order materials that cannot be returned can be collected up to three quarters of their cost. A full wrap in fiber cement runs past that threshold easily, so the deposit line on the contract is not a number the contractor gets to pick.
