Siding Contractor Software in North Dakota
Siding jobs don't fit neatly in generic contractor software. You've got full wraps, partial replacements, color matching trim, and HOAs that take three weeks to approve a sample. ExteriorPro lets you bid by square footage, track what material's going on what elevation, keep the approval paperwork attached to the project, and hand the crew a clean scope on install day. No more rebuilding the estimate from memory because the customer changed the J-channel color.
Whether it's a full wrap in North Dakota suburbs or a partial replacement after hail, ExteriorPro keeps the scope, the material by elevation, and the install week on one screen.
From $199/month per location. No credit card required to start.

North Dakota's siding is chosen by the wind and the cold. The derecho of May 12, 2022 ran 400 miles across the northern plains with 59 gusts of 75 miles an hour or more, an October 2024 windstorm put gusts above 70 across central North Dakota, and on January 13, 2024 Dickinson recorded a wind chill of 70 below. Vinyl at 40 below is brittle and a 75 mile an hour gust finds every loose panel, so steel siding and fiber cement have the replacement market on the prairie. The farmhouse and the older Fargo and Grand Forks neighborhoods carry wood clapboard under whatever went over it. Hail does the claims. Fargo has three-inch hail on record, and a storm that dents a west wall from eave to grade is a full re-side.
The insurance code covers the siding company as squarely as the roofer. North Dakota's residential contractor chapter reaches anyone who contracts for exterior repair, replacement, or reconstruction on a house of one to four families. A residential contractor may not promise to rebate any part of a deductible. Every contract or estimate for insurance-paid work carries the state's capitalized warning, signed by the homeowner and sent to the insurer, and the homeowner can cancel until midnight of the fifth business day after signing or after written notice that the claim is not covered, whichever is later, with every payment back within 10 days. The contractor gives the homeowner and the insurer an itemized description of the work before it starts. A contract that breaks the chapter is void. A sale made in the home carries three business days to cancel, and fifteen for a buyer 65 or older.
North Dakota licenses contractors through the Secretary of State for any job over $4,000, in four classes by the size of the job, with a certificate of liability insurance and no exam. The 2021 International Residential Code has been the state's code since January 1, 2023, with the cities enforcing it, and the frost line is 54 inches in Fargo and 48 in Bismarck.
The houses are the market. Depending on the county, between one in twenty and one in eight houses date from before 1940, and the rest are the Fargo, West Fargo, and Bismarck subdivisions of the 1970s onward, where the first vinyl is finished. The state's population hit a record 799,358 on July 1, 2025, Fargo passed 136,000, and West Fargo is up 7 percent since 2020. Fargo gets about 24 inches of precipitation a year and Bismarck 19, so the siding job is flashing and housewrap for the wind-driven rain and the snow. The season runs from April into October, and the winter stops a crew for months.
