Gutter Contractor Software in Utah

Gutters are a volume game. You're doing two or three installs a day, pricing by linear foot, juggling 5" K-style and 6" half-round, and every third call is about leaf guards. ExteriorPro lets you quote from the truck, drop in downspouts and guards as line items, route the crew to the next stop, and bill the customer before you've packed up. If you run recurring cleaning contracts, those live in here too — no more sticky notes telling you who needs a fall cleanout.

Two or three installs a day across Utah means pricing has to come out of the truck, not the office. ExteriorPro lets you quote, schedule, and invoice from a phone.

From $199/month per location. No credit card required to start.

Snow and ice are the Utah gutter's enemy. Salt Lake City gets around five feet of snow a year and under 20 inches of precipitation, and the winter of 2022 and 2023 broke the state's snowpack record at more than twice the normal, with roofs coming down under it in Park City, Mountain Green, and Bear Lake. A gutter under that load holds ice for months, and ice dams form above every poorly insulated ceiling on the Wasatch Front. The gutter that survives is hung on heavy hangers spaced tight, and the snow that slides off a metal roof in Park City takes the gutter with it unless snow guards hold it back. Heat cable in the gutters and downspouts is a product here, not a novelty.

Wind does the rest. On September 8, 2020, a windstorm put a 112 mile an hour gust on the University of Utah campus, blew over 45 semis, and cut power to more than 200,000 households, and a gutter in that wind is a sail on the fascia. Utah's Insured Homeowners Protection Act of 2020 governs the claim. A contractor may not rebate any part of the deductible, every estimate for insurance-paid work carries that warning in capital letters, and if the insurer denies any part of the claim the homeowner can cancel within five business days of the written denial.

St. George is the other Utah, with eight inches of rain a year, summers over 100 degrees, and a sun that cooks the sealant at every joint. The gutter problem in the desert is the monsoon thunderstorm that puts an inch on a roof in an hour, and the downspout that runs it away from the foundation.

A gutter job is the one exterior trade that lives under Utah's license line. Work under $3,000 in labor and materials needs no license, work from $3,000 to $7,000 can be done under a handyman affirmation filed with the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing, and only a job of $7,000 or more takes a contractor's license, with the 25-hour course, the exams, and $100,000 per occurrence in liability coverage. A gutter company that also roofs carries the license anyway. A sale made in the home can be cancelled until midnight of the third business day. Seamless aluminum in five and six inch K-style is the work, formed on site from coil. The median Utah house dates from 1992, Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain are the fastest-growing cities in the state, and the work runs from March into November on the Wasatch Front and all year in the desert.

Every trade, one price

Roofing, siding, windows, and gutters are all included at one price per location — so a crew that adds a second trade doesn't change what they pay.
