Ida is the reason a New Jersey gutter company talks about where the water goes. The remnants of the storm gave Newark its wettest day on record on September 1, 2021, 8.44 inches, and killed 23 people in the state, many of them in flooded basements. A gutter does not stop that. The trees keep the work coming. The oaks and maples fill gutters in a few weeks each fall in the north, and the pitch pines of the Pine Barrens drop needles all year that slide through guards made for leaves. Seamless aluminum in five and six inch K-style is nearly all of the residential work, formed on site from coil, and the work runs from March into December.
